Alternative to duct tape?

So ive been seeing pictures of people using duct tape to tuck and hide away some of the wires in their cases. My question is, are there other alternatives to duct tape? I was thinking maybe painters tape (the blue tape) because im not really a fan of the sticky residue that duct tape leaves behind. I know to use zip ties but I am talking about an alternative tape. I think packaging tape wouldnt be ideal because it is kind of hard to take off and also leaves sticky stuff behind. What other kinds of tape would be ideal when working with cables and computers?

zip ties or velcro strips. You can get velcro fasteners of all types at sewing or craft stores.

tape?? inside a computer,,,??,,good dust catcher dmountain hit it on the head [again ??] go with the z ties or v strips easer to work with/remove/rearrange,,,neater too..

but with the velcro strips dont you still have to stick the backing to the case? i think when taking off the backing it would leave an even worse residue than duct tape?

depends on which v strip you get, there are one with sticky backs or ones that are just velcro strips...
