Unable to install applications on xp dll error

Hello,
am running on XP SP 2.... i am unable to install any third party applications in it. return an error " application failed to intialize msi.dll ot found.re-installing the application may fix this problem". i tried doin evrythin i can but in vain.. please help me with dis.. thanks in advance.

turn off the anti virus, firewall, or both while installing the program. If you have installed multiple security programs, delete them or turn them ALL off while loading programs. restart the computer and turn the antivirus back on after you install the software.
