Uhh, why would you buy two new 8800GT when you could get just one of the AKIMBO cards and be done with it? For that matter, you can even get just one of the PNY cards and do SLi with that setup. The drivers will underclock your AKIMBO card to stock settngs, but alot cheeper than buying two PNY cards.

That is one option I considered. Currently my funds dont allow me to afford another AKIMBO ssc (or a PNY card for that matter). I do however have a person interested in buying it off me. The amount I "do" have coupled with what he offered would surely cover the cost of 2x new 8800gt's.

I am simply trying to determin if my 3dmark score or game experience would improve any in this transaction. Thank you for you recomendation.

I look forward to any others or maybe if anyone has a similar setup I would like to see what they have for 3dmark scores or average FPS in games.

Where do you live and who is the fool willing to pay enough for one used card that you can run out and buy 2 new ones?

Long story short, dont do it, save up for a couple months and get a second 8800GT, any brand will do, but try and get a dual slot cooler as the single slot cards get REALLY hot.

As to performance gains from an SLi setup, it will depend on what you play and what resolution you use.

#1 I am in the state of Maine. If you really must know every detail, The person that wants to buy my card off me is a coworker that has a amd 2x 4400+ and a 6600gt video card. To him this is a big boost. I offered my card for $150 (paid $240 a month ago). Combined with the $90 I got I can get 2x PNY 8800 GT's from a local shop. I need to get rid of my dual slot card because it covers most of the surface area of my motherboards N/B Heatsinc. I have added Artic silver to the cooler and it still crashes somtimes from heat..

That makes sense now that you tell us the AKIMBO cooler is giving you crap with it's size. That makes sense if you want to rid yourself of the dual cooler, although it's much better.

I have a PNY 8800GT, no complaints other than I can't go past 650 core w/o going 75 C+ in Crysis. I'll be buying an AKIMBO soon, and get an AKIMBO cooler aftermarket for my current PNY one, but that's just me.
