JUst wondering what brands are stable PSU's (other than corsair), and also what ones are most quiet (and arent expensive)? I'm running an E8400 and a radeon 2600XT from a G31 mobo....
Antec Earthwatts are both stable and quiet and not quite as expensive at the Corsair/PCP&C/Seasonic Lines.
They are not quite up to the same quality, but still good.
(They are actually still made by Seasonic, but just a step down.)
I heard that the Antec EA-500"D" is now made by Delta. I don't think it's limited to the 500W. They did a little revision change and changed OEMs on us. A little underhanded IMO.
never had a problem with mine. It's also modular and I considered it relatively inexpensive even tho its cheaper now with the rebate...prob a good idea to get a better PSU now so you have room to upgrade other stuff later on like video card/CPU (w/ OC)........oh and i turned it on by itself and could barely hear it
Thanks people, I've decided on the 450W VX Corsair, it's about $30 more than the Earthwatts suggested above in my country (ausi), and I want the peice of mind, for $30 bucks I know I've got a great stable and reasonably quiet power-platform, corsair it is, thanks for your feedbakc!
thanks again, anyone can rate my total build draft in new system build forum, am about to finalise unless someone has some good advice - sorry dont know how to link
