is it true that when ssds fail they just stop writing and all data remains in it, you just cant write anymore, just read?
i think thats awesome.
 
Exactly. If it happened to you, it would be nice compared to the failure of a traditional hard drive, but you definitely can't count on that failure mode. You should always have a good backup of any data that you would mind losing (even if it is on an SSD).
