for a phenom overclocked as high as i can get (3 Ghz prob)
8GB of overclocked ram (6400)
1 X 150Gb Raptor Drive
will be looking to quad up in future which is why ive looked at this .
just buying a cheap 3870 HD by gainward to finish computer.
powering standard peripherals such as 2.0 speakers, keyboard, gaming mouse.
im sure it will work the one thing that allways throws me off is when a PSU states that it supports dual core CPU's does this mean i need to find one that supports Quad core CPUs.
or is it somethine that manufacturers made up to confuse?
Wow, complete overkill. Even if you went for the Corsair 650w it would still be more than you need, although I would never discourage someone from buying a good product if they can afford it.
First, ignore anything a psu says about supporting dual or quad cores. That information is pretty useless as PSUs don't need to detect what kind of CPU you have or anything like that, the most important information is the quality of the psu and the power on the 12v rails.
As for the "turbo mode" all it does is combine the 12v rails which the PC P&C one does by default. The PC P&C one is also of considerably better build quality. Between the two it would be crazy to go for the Tagan.
