This is very strange. I have three Western Digital hard drives. I removed their partitions to clean install them as follows: 2 in Raid 0 and the third one outside the Raid array. I then proceeded to install Vista 64 Ultimate on the Raid drives, which all went fine. The problem occurred when I went to do the Vista 64 upgrade on top of the original (The clean install trick using the upgrade disk). After it did it's first round of tasks, after the first reboot the Raid screen that comes up that shows the status of the Raid and the disks in the Raid shows that the first disk in the array has an error. Mind you it was fine before the upgrade was installed on top of the original.

So I took the drive that it was reporting out of the system, and put the other one in its place. The did the whole install and re-install thing again and the same thing happened. Then I moved the drives from SATA ports 1&2 to 3&4 and the same thing happened again. Next I switched the ports so that the second drive that never reported a problem was now the first disk and the other one that did report the error is now the second disk and the first disk reported the error again. It is always the first disk in the array, and it never reports an error until after the OS is installed again on top of the initial installation to perform the upgrade.

I think I have eliminated the possibility of it being a drive problem, but maybe there is another step I can take that you guy might think of? I have also considered putting all three of them in a Raid 5 instead of Raid 0, but from what I understand you really want at least 4 drives to make Raid 5 worth it. I don't know as I have not really done anything with Raid before, just done a ton of reading on it.

One final note, even though it is reporting the error, it seems to be running fine but the Intel storage manager thing in windows keeps bugging me about an error in the raid volume.
