Greetings all. I got a great deal on a Foxconn 945G7AD motherboard. Plan to match it up with a Pentium 520 whose motherboard gave up the ghost. But I got to thinking that at some future point I might want to upgrade this to Core 2 Duo and overclock it. So my question is what would be the best processor to upgrade to? E6xx, E7xx or an E8xx?
This board has a 1066FSB and a top memory speed of 667.
Any suggestions? Or is this so horribly crippled that I shouldn't bother?

I mean should I look for an E8xxx CPU even though my board doesn't support 1333FSB?
Or stick with the lower numbers?
I'd really like to get up to 4ghz. Try to get the most bang for my buck.
BTW, will abandon the on-board graphics and us a 4670.
Thanks in advance.

First check the Foxconn website for what is supported.

Here you go:

You could go with a e6300 for $90.00.
You might need a bios update prior to changing the CPU.

You need DDR2-533 memory or better for the upgrade.
