I am thinking of a minor step up for my system since I’ve upgraded from XP SP3 to Vista Ultimate 64 bit. P5Q PRO has been my headache in the last 2 months and I decide to fire it from now on.
I am looking for a mobo in less than $300 that can serve me better rather than P5Q PRO. Reliability, good OC potential, low mobo temp. are 3 main concerns.
Here is my rig:
Intel Q9550 @default speed since P5Q is even unstable with Thermalright U120E
Corsair Dominator PC8500 1066 4*2G
Sapphire HD4870 512MB OC’d to 790/1100 with 3rd party cooling.
2 WD 320G SATA HDD in Raid 0 with another 640G data HDD
Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1kw PSU
Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 Case.
I would contact asus about your issues. Have you tried a newer bios version? Have you tried different memory timings? Alot of memory won't run at the recommended settings. Especially if you have all 4 slots filled.
