Is the Giga-Byte 800W PSU worth the $200 price tag? I know Giga-Byte is a really good brand. This has software control too (which is neat), and some other nice features. What do you all think?
I'm planning on powering a future i7/Nehalem 2.66 Ghz with 4-6 Gb of Ram. Also, I plan on getting the ATI 4850 video card. I plan on the Antec 900 case and a Blu-Ray writer. I was thinking 700-800W would be what I need? Am I wrong?

If your PSU reaches over 47 deg celcius then the fan makes a weird squeal! This is really the only bad thing about it.
The light is very bright but can be turned off in the PSU application although when you reboot it comes on again. (not a problem).
If I was you i'd go for corsair or PC Power and cooling especially since they both have single 12v rails which are better than multiple rails anyway and are cheaper and more reliable.
I would skip the gigabyte. You don't need more than 600 watts, unless you're running multiple raid setups and video cards. You can find a decent ps for about $100. I recommend seasonic (5 year warranty), corsair, or antec at the low end.
I hope I don't regret it, but after reading several power supply articles and reviews, I decided on this power supply. I was extremely lucky, and found one on eBay for $88 /w $6 shipping! It's brand new, and the seller has 100% feedback. I figured this was a deal that couldn't be beat. I'm going to get an Antec Nine Hundred case, and put my old computer inside of it until I upgrade to i7 or a lower price Quad when prices drop as my old system is still ok for now. Wish me luck!
