I hate bothering everyone here with newbie questions, so i was
wondering if there is a good website that might answer my questions. I
want to leave Tatooine, and there's so much to do but the ingame help
doesnt give me what I need. Any suggestions?

Well, here's one of the better websites out there:

http://swg.allakhazam.com

What exactly are you trying to find out that ingame help isn't working
for? With specifics, someone here can probably answer your questions more
easily.

Here's one question...are my weapons and armor deteriorating? If so,
what can i do to replenish them? Or do I just need to rebuy stuff over
again?

And here's something that happened, and I'd like your thoughts. I had
a decent gun, but stopped at a vendor and bought a newer pistol for
about 2000. I equiped it, but never slotted it to an F-key. When i
started fighting, i realised I wasn;t shooting anything...my hands
were empty. I hit the hotkey to pull up one of my older guns, but when
I checked inventory my new gun was gone...it disappeared in battle.
What could have happened?

If you are new, you can get a lot of info from:
+ this newgroups
+ SWG, general, trade and profession forums

I also recommend joining a player city as you will join a community of other
helpful players who will help you with your game, profession and many
questons you may have. Our player city (Titan, planet Rori, Shadowfire

Your weapons and armour do indeed deteriorate with use, and when you die (once
the newbie death bonus wears off). In fact, everything in your inventory
decays slightly when you die. Weapons, clothing, and armour can all be
repaired with a repair kit (clothing repair kit for clothing, weapon repair
kit for weapons, etc.). It's better to have someone with a high crafting skill
use a high-quality repair kit on your items, if possible, but even then they
won't be repaired quite as good as new, and there's still a chance the item
could fall apart during the attempt. A high level of damage, IIRC, increases
the chanced of a failed repair.

Also, IIRC, totally decayed items don't disappear from your inventory. They
simply decay to 0%. So remember to check on your more important items on
occasion to make sure they're still viable.

So yes, you can replenish your items, but eventually with enough use (or
enough death) you'll need to buy new anyway. Also bear in mind that there's
not much point in repairing non-stat clothing, since decay won't change its
appearance any.

Also, sliced weapons and weapons with powerups have higher deterioration
rate with usage.

What's your advice for weapons then? Im training to be Pistoleer, so a
good handgun is pretty much what I need. I dont want to keep losing a
gun in the middle of a fight. Should I just make my own?

Also, is there any way to get more skill points? I'd love to be a
bounty hunter one day, but it stinks how many things I need to do to
reach the Masters that I need. It seems like I will never have enough
points after everything is earned (to throw in some other
professions.)

You can tell if they are deteriorating by examining them and checking
the condition - it will give you a current/max stat. The armor will
drop a LOT quicker than weapons.

You can replenish each by purchasing the appropriate repair kit (either
weapon or armor). Unequip the item, then choose it from the list after
using your tool. You have a chance of destroying the item, but it will
almost certainly lose max condition. Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths are
suppose to have better chances of repairing successfully. The current
condition of the item also determines the success rate - if you wait
until it is at like 15% of max, its almost certainly going to be
destroyed.

Thats a known problem, sometimes stuff disappears out of your inventory
after you purchased it from the bazaar or vendor =). It might come back
after a server reset. I think of it as 'job security' for the crafting
folks ;)

You will need several different types of guns (out of long list of FWG5,
DX2 DL44, Scout Blaster, Republic Blaster, Geonosian Sonic Blaster, etc.)
and use each depending on situation. Besides that, I would have more
than one of of those that I use most. I actually always have a spare
Scout Blaster, FWG5, and DX2 in my backpack. Weapons do not deteriorate
fast enough for that to happen during fight. Just keep an eye on the
condition and repair/buy new as necessary.

There is no way to get more than 250 skillpoints. So use them wisely.
Bounty Hunter is good overall but has little in terms of defences for the
skillpoints used. With Pistoleer, take the pistol line of Smuggler -
people say it is a good complement of skills and special moves. Plus it
gives you certifications for Smuggler-only pistol.

Pure Pistoleer is not certified for Scatter Pistol and Launcher Pistol
(one of them is in Bounty Hunter skilltree). Not that you need them
anyway. But some people like those pistols. It highly depends on a
particular server.

You can check out : http://www.towpc.com/swg/ . It gives a list of badges
that you can get. It's a good start to exploring the galaxy!

Regarding your gun, when the toon that crafted something is deleted
(actually re rolled!) all the stuff they crafted disappears. this prevents
people from crafting a ton of stuff and they rerolling their toon to become
something else but keeping all that stuff. Think of it as by deleting that
character, that character never existed nor did anything they do have any
consequence.

I've heard that weapons with powerups do not, in fact, decay faster. It
just seems that way because Speed powerups are probably the most popular
type. So the weapon get more actual use in a given length of time.

Durango.
You should have a travel ticket voucher to travel somewhere else.
Naboo is a very popular place and Corellia as well.
Find ways to make credits or ask someone to tip you for running errands. You
can also take missions ;)
Anyway..
hope you are enjoying the trial and become a user.
BTW what server did you start on?
I never asked
