hello guys,

i just wanna ask what is the fastest videocard that my PSU could handle? it only has 1 12V rail...

here are the specs:

delta electronics 280W (264W max)

+12V = 18A
-12V = 0.3A
+3.3V = 16.7A
+5V = 16A
+5VSB = 2.5A

+3.3V and +5V combined output power not exceed 135W

+3.3V and +5V and +12V co,bined output not exceed 264W

processor: amd sempron 64 3600+ AM2
mobo:lenovo w/ RS690G chipset
HDD:80gb sata2
w/dvd drive
ram: 2x1gb ddr2 667
windows vista basic

can it handle the 9500gt or the hd4670?

Probably not. I'd invest in a better power supply. Seasonic, corsair, antec, even fortron would probably work better. Don't buy some lightweight no name unit. I had one burn out in 4 days. If you don't want to change power supplies, check newegg's open box section. They have some low end 3650 or 2600xt's that might run without a new ps.

I'll disagree with o1die. Delta make pretty good power supplies, in fact Antec changed from Seasonic to Delta for their Earthwatts series. I'm still waiting on more information about the HD4670, but the 9500GT only uses 35w of power. Here's a chart of graphic card power use.

here's a hierarchy chart showing rankings for graphic cards.

and a handy power supply calculator.

I'd have no problem with running a 9500GT on my personal system with that power supply.

since the hd4670 doesnt need a 6pin connector can my PSU handle this card???

Sorry, i have a Delta in one system, but different specs. The HD4670 pulls about 60w. What did the PSU calculator tell you?

Reply to dirtmountain

about PSU calculator lite version i used 9600gt as my reference card because there is no hd4670 yet in the list and the consumption is 212watts
