Sony Projection HDTV and Comcast HD Cable

I have a Sony projection HDTV model KP-51HW40. I used to have Comcast
Cable HDTV. Just today I got the Comcast DVR box. Upon setup I
noticed that the TV image on all channels is blurry if I select 1080i
as one of the outputs while setting up the Comcast box. To get clear
reception (including HD) I have to remove 1080i as an option and select
720p.

My TV manual says it can handle 1080i. I am certain that before the
DVR the old HD cable box gave me 1080i. I just do not remember how to
set this up.

Anyone have any ideas? Obviously the guy from Comcast had no clue.

Thanks.

Dunno. Sounds like an issue w/ the comcast cable box. I have the same TV, but I used OTA antennae for HDTV. You might try using the DVI or HDMI connection as opposed to the component cables. (if the cable box has DVI/HDMI out). A digital signal always helps.

I hate comcast btw. I don't even have cable TV anymore. I just watch network stuff anyways.
