Very high NB temps

Im using an Asus maximus formula special edition ROG (x38) motherboard. With a q9300, overclocked to 3ghz 1.21vcore. However my NB temp is at 57C, the voltage at auto on 1.62v. Im using a Xigmatek 1283 air cooler and have plenty of fans for airflow. Ambient is about 15C. Any ideas about the problem?

problem is its asus.... and its also a very hot NB chip... most of intels NB chips are very hot

I replaced the stock cooling on my asus with a passive heatsink... temperature dropped about 20 C... but is still in the 40s.... and 50s on load

I imagine i could get a much higher OC if i was able to cool the NB down further... will try to when i get my WCing
