Hi all, which HSF would you recommend for the 955? I have two picked out below, but am unsure which is better or if they're even compatible with AM3. I've also heard of the Xigmatek Dark Knight, but don't know much about it either. Thanks for help, other links would be great too!

Does anyone know if these coolers come with a backplate or whether it's even necessary to keep the mobo from bending?

The sunbeam does not require a backplate. In my experience with the AMD latch, it always seems like its too much and bending the board but I never had a problem with that.

I squeezed my old Therlmalright Si-120 onto my AM3 with the bracket from Xoxide. Had to modify it a bit with a bench grinder for clearance with the heat plate (modify the plastic bracket - not the heat plate). Works great, and it's quiet with the low speed, high CFM 120mm fan.
