Hi,
I have a dual boot setup with both as Windows XP. I have the 1st OS on C drive and the 2nd OS on the E drive. I want to create an cloned image of the 2nd OS on the E drive using DriveImage XML or Macrium.

My questions regarding this is :
(1) Can I install and run the cloning software from inside of the 1st windows xp on C drive so as to backup/clone the 2nd OS on the E drive. I want to do it this way so that I dont have to install any softwares (cloning ones or others) on the E drive as I want a complete clean image of the OS.

(2) Simmilarly can I run the cloning software inside of the 1st windows xp on C drive while restoring the cloned image onto the E drive. This way I dont have to create a rescue cd,usb to do the restore..

I don't know. I use Acronis from a rescue disk.

Having a rescue disk is a good idea. And CD-R blanks are just sooo expensive now. :)
