Hi Guys,

I am currently planning to build one gaming, enough to play all the recent games in decent resolution (1680 * 1050). My total budget is around 40k - 45k INR. Here is my config. Please post your suggestion guys

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Rs8750
Asus P5Q - Pro Rs8400
Transcend DDR 2 800 Mhz - 4 GB Rs3700
Seagate 750 GB (32MB Buffer, SATA 2) Rs6000
Zebronics Vivah (400Wpsu) Rs1450
Palit HD 4850 = Rs13000
Logitech Keyboard and mouse set. Rs600

(All prices are according to Chennai market)

So the total is 42k.
Is this config ok. Do i need extra power supply and cooling. This is my first build, help me out.

I don't know if that is a quality power supply but it seems cheap compared to the rest of the compents so i would go for a solid 500watt power supply that is a name brand. other wise those parts are very solid, as far as cooling goes i don;t what your case is or how many fans it has.

Save your self some cash and get a P5Q-E.
Same features for 25% less.

With the cash you saved, get a better PSU.
I am not sure what you have in your area, but you need a quality 500W+ unit.
If you can get one, the Corsair units are very nice as are PSU's from PCP&C, Enermax, Silverstone and Antec. Just avoid the Antec PSU's with a "D" after the wattage rating. They are made by a new supplier and are much weaker than the older ones.

If you can afford it, get a better cooler for the 4850 and E8400. For the CPU, an Artic Cooling Freezer 7 pro will give you good performance at a low price point. For the 4850, I would recommend an Artic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev2. Even passively cooled, it will perform better than the stock 4850 cooler.

What ever you decide, make sure to get a quality PSU. A cheap unit will result in failure and probable damage to the rest of the system.

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

i saw a show on discovery where a guy gets 60 rupees for every monkey he catches. 42000 / 60 = 700 monkeys that need to be caught to build this system.

Thats a **** load of monkeys LoL

Thanks Guys

The cabinet has three fans. Here is the link

P5Q-E seems to be costlier in India
(Ref: http://www.theitwares.com/motherbo [...] oards.htm)

And about PSU which is best
CoolerMaster RP-600-PCAR Rs3000
or
Corsair VX450W Rs3200

This will take my rig cost to 45k.
And about coolers i don't whether its avilable in chennai or not.

Hrm, thats odd.
The P5Q-E is one step down from the P5Q-Pro :??:
Well, if that's what it is, get the Pro then.
They are bouth good Mb's.

As for the PSU...
The Corsair is way better than either of the other choices you have listed.
Much better quality and it probably matches, if not outperforms, a cheap 600W for power output.
