Hi all. I'm writing today because my current system has an ASUS A8N-E mobo paired with an AMD 64 4000+ processor. I can't seem to find what the maximum processor that this board supports. I know it is socket 939, but I'm still not sure just how high I can go.
Can anyone answer me how fast of a processor I can put into this board?
EDIT: Socket 939 was discontinued log ago. Finding a 'new' FX or X2 Dual Core CPU is almost imopossible. Ebay is your friend if that's where you are headed.

The best processor for this board is the FX-60. The problem is that they are extremely hard to find. The opteron 185 is exactly like the FX-60 but with a locked multiplier. The next best thing in the X2 4800+.
I have several 939 systems running currently and use them every day. 4800X2, FX55, 4000+ and just sold the 3800+ I put together a short while back. I have four socket 754 systems running too. They serve their purpose. Fast office workstations 8). It will be a couple of years before I think about replacing these systems with new. New MB/CPU are rare.
