I've just built up my new home PC. Now, the problem is whenever i boot the pc, It takes terribly long time to get the login screen. To be specific, it stuck with black screen between loading windows and login screen. I have done clean install windows but the problem still the same. Also tried disable all startup programs and reboot not solved.

Again, during watching .avi movie files it freeze sometimes. Program NOT RESPONDING also frequently happened.

This is my current system.

Intel Core2Duo E7200 with Cooler Master Hyper TX2
MSI P35 Neo2FR (with latest BIOS version)
2GB Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX Module
500GB Seagate HDD
MSI Nvidia NX8400GS
LG GH20 DVD R/RW
Windows Vista Home Premium

Pls kindly advice me the possible solution. Thanks in advance.

Installing the latest drivers for you graphics card may help....
but make sure that you uninstall the old ones first.

Sometimes external USB storage causes a long delay at the point you mentioned. Possibly even an internal HD that's not properly configured with the right drivers and settings. If you have external USB devices plugged in, try booting without them. Also make sure your HDs are set up correctly as IDE or SATA depending on the drive and make sure the drivers are correct in windows.

thanks for your suggestion szwaba67! I've tried to boot without external HD. Problem didn't solve. According to Seagate support site, my HD is plug n play. No need any driver for that. But i search other forums and a little bit suspect on hard drive too. How should i repair it? Yesterday, i installed System Mechanic 8 and found out 9 errors but when i pressed the repair button. My system bcome BSOD.

According to szwaba67 suggestion, i suspected on the hard drive and defragmented it yesterday. I found out that 4kb bad sector on my drive. I'm sure that this would be the problem. I'm going to use bootable SeaToolsDos version and repair that bad sectors tonight. I'll update my result as a reference for the others. =)
