New Rig Nvidia vs Ati

Hello I am making a new build and was wondering what your guys opinion is on either a nvidia rig or an ati rig:

Nvidia Rig: Ati Rig:
Cpu: Intel Q9550 Cpu: Intel Q9550
Motherboard: A nforce 790i Motherboard: ? a crossfire
Ram: 2-4 ddr3 Ram: 2-4 ddr3 if crossfire motherboard has it
VideoCard: Geforce 9800Gx2 VideoCard: 2x Radeon Hd 4870

Looking at the benchmarks for the hd 4870, im leaning on that. The only thing is i don't no what type of motherboard to get and wondering what is the best intel crossfire motherboard.
And does x48 chipset work with crossfire. If you guys can help me with the it will be much appreciated.

X48 supports crossfire and has ddr3, but that depends on model. You could also wait a bit more for the 4870x2 2gb to come out, they have superior scaling and less problems in some games

X38 or X48 motherboard will do fine for CrossfireX. P45 motherboards will get the job done too.
Both have DDR2 or DDR3 versions. There is no really significant advantage to DDR3 over DDR2.

Look these options over:
ASUS P5E or Gigabyte GA-X38T-DQ6 for X38 motherboards
ASUS P5E Deluxe or Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 for X48 motherboards
