Hey everyone,
Okay, I know that If i got to EVGA's website looking for information on how hot can my card get, i usually get a generic answer like:
Video card temperatures typically range from 40C to 80C. Most high end video cards such as the 78xx, 79xx, 88xx series typically display temperatures 50-70C idle and up to 80C-90C at load. The heatsink and fan assemblies attached to the video cards are specifically designed to reduce temperatures as much as possible.

I know that their warning means only when in use "as is" or "as purchased," not OC. Now that I am getting ready to OC my card, am i to assume that the temperature limits still stand.. I mean i cannot under any circumstance go over 90C or it will fry? The reason i haven't OC my graphics card yet is because it idles at 70C and goes up to 86C while playing COD4 for example.. even with the fan at 100% (not sure if that's normal)
I guess what i'm really asking is, is it safe to OC while i get those temps as is? if i do it, is there software that i can get that warns you if the temp is too hot? whatever suggestions you guys feel like offering i would really appreciate it.. Not on OC, just on temperature control
thanks..
