I have a dell dimension 8400 and i think that the mb is Intel 925X. Can anyone tell me what processors it can be upgraded with or what it can't be upgraded with?
Also, I think the ram type it uses is DDR SDRAM and I was wondering what other kinds of ram i could use. Like ddr2 and up.

Dell choose on the their 925X install to use DDR RAM. You CANNOT use DDR2-RAM on that motherboard, or ANY other RAM than normal DDR RAM.

In the past Dell limited the upgrading of CPUs by using a special motherboard that only accepted their stuff. I don't know if the 8400 falls into this category.

No current CPU will work on 925X as it only supports P4s and only has a 800MHz FSB (200).

925X

Dell uses DDR400 in their system, NOT DDR2. So that hurts even a bit more eh Wolf.
