I was going to spend quite alot of money on building a new pc system until i heard about intels Nehalem processors coming out. So i decided to go for a cheaper option. I managed to pick the asus m2n-sli deluxe up for £40. I was wondering which processor would be best suited for it. The athlon 64 x2 6000+ or phenom x3 8750.
Ive done a bit of research on the mobo and some websites say it supports the phenom and others dont.
I'm running the M2N-SLI deluxe with 6000+ cpu and I'm v happy with it. I would highly recommend the combination - It's been running for over a year now with a mild (5%) overclock with no issues.
The reports from other sites are a bit sketchy as you need to flash the bios to accept X3/4 CPU's. If your happy with this fine - but you wont get the most out of the CPU.
If your really looking into a X3/X4 CPU then you should go for an AM2+ mobo from the start.
