I just built a computer recently. It will freeze at random spots when I play games. Even when It on screen saver mode, It will freeze there. I even updated the video card settings and that didnt help. Any help would appreciated. Here are my specs.....

MotherBoard : Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L

Processor: Q6600

Video Card: Nvidia 8800 GT

Power Supply: Corsair VX 550W Power Supply

Memory: OCZ Platinum Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000

How are your temperatures?

Use something like Core temp or something

It started about a day after I built it.

It's Windows XP Pro 32bit

Run memtest to check for ram errors. And make sure ram voltage is at its default in the bios

Yeah, run Memtest86+, you will probably find a failure.

I would also check the temp of your northbridge chip in BIOS. If the temp is hitting 90C+, you may have random freezing problems.

try and increase the memory voltage by 0.1 volts
