Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
G.Skill 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800
Radeon HD 4850
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L
WD6400AAKS
Antec Nine Hundred
Corsair HX520W
probably Xigmatek HDT-S1283

I'm new to building and overclocking.

Changes I'm considering:
-ram from 800 to 1066
-e7200 to e8400
-adding a cpu cooler, maybe later

what are your thoughts on the current build and also the changes? what would give me 'more bang for my buck'?

Use DDR2-800 with a P35 chipset mobo. You can overclock it, but native 1066 has compatibility issues with that chipset.
Although bigger than you need, the PSU is a nice one and offers a comfortable margin.
If you think you will overclock, it will be easier to get a CPU cooler now and install it before mounting your mobo.
If it will fit your budget, get the e8400.

ok, i've changed the hdd from seagate 500gb to wd 640gb

also looking for a good cpu cooler that would fit with my current setup. preferable something is easy to mount since this is my 1st build.

edit: OK, I think I'm done.
