Hey guys i just finished putting together my new gaming rig last night. Turned it on for the first time and everything seemed ok, but i get no picture on my monitor. On the inside of my case CPU fan is spinning, GFX card fan is spinning and the lights are on, and all other case fans and LED lights inside the case are lit up and working, just no picture on the monitor. Heres what i've tried to do to resolve it so far: took the video card out and put it back in, moved the memory into different slots, took 1 memory stick out and left 1 in, plugged the dvi cable into the motherboard input instead of the video card, made sure all of the cables are proplerly connected. It seems like no matter what i try the pc will turn on just fine, just no picture. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP BEFORE I STAB SOMEONE. Here's my specs.

Make sure the 24 pin power connector is connected properly AS WELL AS the 4 pin power connector (this is the number one cause of these symptoms that i have come across). If that is true then unplug everything except for cpu, ram and video card (if your mobo has an onboard video card then take out your video card as well). If it posts like that then add components back in one at a time until you find the problem.

EDIT
For your mobo its an 8 pin power connector not a 4 pin power connector (located across from the 24 pin power connector)

Hope this helps

my power supply has a 20pin ATX connector and a 4pin connector attatched to it and on my mother board there is a 24pin atx and 8pin, i have no 8 pin connector from my PSU just the 20pin and the 4 pin. I currently have the 20 pin plugged into the 24, and the 4 pin isnt plugged into anything because there is no 4 pin input anywhere on the motherboard. Just thought i should add that in if it helps at all.

plug the 4 pin into the 8 pin slot (it will only plug into half of it obviously). There might be a specific way that you will need to plug it in sense its an 8 pin not 4 pin so check with the mobo manual for that. This should hopefully solve the problems

or i guess you could also plug the 4 pin into the last 4 pins of the 24 connector slot. If im not mistaken this works but again probably safer to check the mobo manual.

heres what it says in the mobo manual...
"The power connectors are compatible with power supplies with 2x2 12v and 2x10 power connectors. When using a power supply providing a 2x4 12v and a 2x12 power connector remove the protective covers from the 12v power connector and the main power connector to the motherboard. Do not insert the power supply cables into pins under the protective covers when using a power supply providing a 2x2 12v and 2x10 power connector"

hmm well that seemed very informative.... ;) i believe that you can stick that 4 pin pretty much anywhere and it will be ok (either on one of the sides for the 8 pin or on the remaining 4 pins for the main one) but that isn't 100%. I would recomend putting it on the edge of the 8 pin connector and see if it works, but perhaps spending a few minutes on google to verify that this works wouldn't be a bad idea. Good luck!

Right you are Ken!

Is there anyway you can try hooking this up to a conventional monitor instead of an LCD TV with just a regular DVI or VGA cable?

Your PC could be putting out a signal your TV can't reproduce on it's screen.
