Gigabyte geforce 8800gt shows only blank screen?

Every time I load the driver software for my new gigabyte 8800gt and restart the pc the screen just goes blank when windows is trying to load. I have to restart in safe and roll it back to standard vga graphics to get windows to load. Anyone know how i can fix this?

I am running :
Gigabyte EP45-ds3L
Intel core 2 duo 3ghz
4g ram
1200w PSU
Vista 32bit

P.S. I have tried the driver that came with the card as well as all the update drivers from Nvidia
