I am going to be using:

1) Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache

2) G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

3) POWERCOLOR AX3870 512MD3-PH Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0

4) Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache

5) CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V

6) Lite On Blu-ray DVD-ROM Model DH-4O1S-11

7) LG DVD Burner GH22NS30

This will primarily be used for media purposes and light gaming. I do want to oc to 3.0ghz. I will be adding 5 additional 1.5TB drives as I fill them. I am not sure about what chipset P35-45 X38-48 I need to have 8 SATA headers. I am Currently looking at the following:

1) MSI P43 Neo3-F

2) DFI LP LT X48-T2R

3) DFI LP LT X38-T2R

4) DFI LANPARTY LT X48-T3RS

5) ASUS P5E WS Professional

6) GIGABYTE GA-X48-DQ6

7) MSI P45 Neo3-FR

You see where Im going with this. Im really just not sure which one to use I want great stability and expansive features. What would anyone suggest. Any similar hardware arrangements?

Point made. So I shouldnt allow A specific number of SATA headers be the deciding factor and it does appear that an X38-48 would be overkill. That being said Is the board you mentioned or another going to be a solid and stable platform over the long run. Keeping in mind I may add more RAM or faster RAM and plan to OC?
