Hey,

I've been researching for quite a while now on different components and parts. I've come down to 3 options for a system build and wanted to know what people think. I am really keen on the first system, even though it's more expensive cause the case will last me a long time, the only problem is I noticed not many aftermarket CPU coolers fit in the p190 so was wondering if anybody know's the best CPU cooler to fit into the p190 or if you think the Zalman 9500a will do.
The prices are AUS so might not be to relevant in the US.

System 1

Case - Antec P190 + 1200 $470
Power Supply - NA
CPU Intel Q9450 - $380
CPU Cooler - Zalman 9500a $55
Motherboard - Asus P5E Delux $250
RAM - Crucial Ballistix 2GB kit $90
Hard Drive - Samsung Spinpoint F1 750GB $150

Total = 1395

System 2

Case - Antec P182 $190
Power Supply - SilverstoneĀ ST85F 850W $195
CPU - Intel Q9450 $380
CPU Cooler - Xigmatek HDT-S1283 $50
Motherboard - Asus P5E Delux $250
RAM Crucial Ballistix 2GB kit - $90
Hard Drive - Samsung Spinpoint F1 750GB $150

Total = 1305

System 3

Case - Coolermaster Cosmos $260
Power Supply - SilverstoneĀ ST85F 850W $195
CPU - Intel Q9450 $380
CPU Cooler - Xigmatek HDT-S1283 $50
Motherboard - Asus P5E Delux $250
RAM - Crucial Ballistix 2GB kit $90
Hard Drive - Samsung Spinpoint F1 750GB $150

Total = 1375

Anyway, just wanna hear peoples opinions as I'm really close to buying now. Pip up if you think I need to swap anything out. I've got a 7600GT already and sound and TV cards and 2 hard drives so I don't need those. I will be using the system for a bit of gaming, but mostly system intensive apps, e.g. fruity loops and video/audio conversions. I also just want a system thats going to last for at least the next 4 to 5 years.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thanks for the tip off Doltron.

I was thinking I might swap out the Spinpoint F1 for 2 36GB Raptors in a Raid or one 74GB one, as I will be using it for the OS and don't really need massive amounts of space. What do you think?

I would just go for whats cheapest per GB, which currently is the Samsung and WD 640GB drives(or the Samsung 750GB).

Raptors are overpriced and they're really old now.

Cool I think I'll go with the Spinpoint then as it gives me room to grow and not have to worry about space at all. What do you think of the rest of my rig?

btw I know the prices are a little over. I just went through staticice and marked up a little from all the prices I could see there just so I don't end up going for a build and blowing my budget.

The main thing i'm unsure about is the zalman cooler in the p190. I know it will fit, but am unsure if there's any others that will also that have better cooling. Apparently nothing over 150mm will fit

Any more opinions on my system.
I'm thinking I will get the P190, Crucial Ballistixs, Q9450, Spinpoint 750GB, and the Asus P5E Delux and decide on a CPU cooler once i've looked around for a little while longer.
I was looking at the cooler master GeminII or maybe the Thermaltake dual orb
What does everyone think?
