I just installed "Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility V9.0.0.1007" from Vista 64-bit regarding my Asus P5Q Deluxe mobo and suddenly I started getting overtemperature warnings. I went into my BIOS and saw that my CPU was running at that high a temperature. How the hell did that happen?
Was running the Chipset Software Installation Utility from Vista 64 a bad move? How would I resolve this? Any help would be great.
I would suggest re-seating the heatsink again, if you use the stock one the push pins are pain in the rear so make sure they are all the way in
I just went over the readme for the Installation Chipset and here is what it says. There isn't anything there about Vista 64-bit and the problem only came up after installed the Chipset software. Nothing ever came up prior up to that.

WTF...., they expect you to read all that
My friend, that is an example of what NOT to post. A link would have been sufficient
If you're getting a temp warning in your BIOS then you can rule out any windows driver update as being the cause of the problem.
