error loading c:windows/.all the specified could not be found

More details here, when do you see this? What's the exact message?

If you can't start Windows at all, boot of a XP CD and run a chkdsk. This error can be caused by a bad drive, a virus, file system issues. More times than not, when I run across files that can't be found on a drive, if you do a drive test you will find errors on it, even if Windows runs after a chkdsk repair.

I'm sort of having the same problem, but mine just sits on the loading screen. I've tried using a XP CD and that didn't work either. I've also tried all other boot up operations (i.e. safe mode, last known working boot up, etc.) None of that has worked either. Im in the process of doing a chkdsk /r. I did chkdsk /p and nothing came up. Any ideas?
