Dear All

I am finally getting a new PC to replace my Athlon 1700 and 9500 PRO (I know...). I am looking at a £600 system based on an E8500 processor and a 4870 GPU, however I don't have the budget for a new monitor as well. My current screen is a Samsung Syncmaster 913N that has a native resolution of 1280x1024 and I don't think I can change it for a while. I really do want to enjoy Crysis, COD4 and GTAIV with the rest of you.

Am I wasting my money with a 4870?

You sure you can't scrape the money to buy a bigger screen?
Otherwise the system is wayyy overkill :p

get a 4850 and save some dinero...
