doesn't it have a vga or a dvi input on the projector
just hook up the cable from the computer to your projector, turn the projector on and press the source button until you find the right source and it should work
if that doesn't solve your problem i guess i don't fully understand your question

Assuming the projector has either a VGA, DVI, or HDMI input, connect your desktop to a regular monitor. Change the desktop resolution to match your projectors native resolution. Disconnect the regular monitor and connect your desktop to your projector.

^You won't even need to do that. The OS will find the maximum native resolution of the projector automatically if it is smaller then what's it set at.
