I have just purchased an Asus P5Q-E motherboard and I had an Audigy 4 sound card.
Should I switched to the on-board sound or the Audigy 4 card.
I"m currently using the Audigy 4 card with latest Creative drivers but got some issues with Crysis, Bioshock and PowerDVD 8.
I lost sound in these.
Do you think if I use the on-board sound it will be better and is the on-board sound is of a good quality as compared to the Audigy 4 card?
On board sound should be enough for you especially if your Audigy 4 card has issues with the games you play.
Most current on board should solutions offer a decent level of should quality but lack Creative's EAX extensions.
I do not think it will have better quality than the A4 but the difference should not be that noticeable.

I have disable the later in BIOS.
I doesn't have any problem in Windows XP but issues in Vista.
This a 2 year old card so I don't think that I'll put it aside for the moment though the On-board sound has more connectivity like Coaxial/ Optical SPDIF, 8-channel audio.
If the problem persist well I'll have no choice to remove it.
The latter is stable for quite a moment.
I think its Creative fault as they were relentless to support the Audigy cards for Vista.
They put all enthasis on their Xi-Fi cards.....
They are changing their mind I think!!!
