On the suggestion of another forum member, I pumped up the FSB from 200 to 266, to utilize the full potential of my DDR2-1000 RAM and overclocked my RAM (slightly) to 1066 settings... It worked!! - and had great benchmark results in AMD Overdrive... until I ran PassMark 6.1 twice. The first time, it froze during the 3d airplane screen, and then it stopped that test, acknowledged the error and continued on, and then gave me the computer test results. I then rebooted, put the HD3450 Graphics card back to default setting (I had it OC'd to 700MHz, and returned it to 667MHz), uninstalled/reinstalled PassMark and then ran it again, after which it crashed and I couldn't start windows... it would begin to boot windows, then reboot, and then give me the option to go to safe mode, and then that would reboot, then I would get the option again to start normally, and then windows would finally start... I kept rebooting to see if windows would start normally after that, but I got a BSOD twice, once it said a registry file was missing, and the other time it said a system file was missing... I got it running normally again, but I'm sure it's unstable because there seemed to be a different windows problem everytime it booted up.

Things I did after to try to alleviate the situation:

Ran a CCleaner Registry Cleanup (in response to the BSOD related to error)
Let the computer run through a self-imposed diskcheck
put the BIOS to default settings (it still had boot problems after this, but I got windows going after a few attempts)

It's obvious that I damaged my OS (and I read in other posts that you can damage your OS when you OC), and that's fine, I can always reinstall/repair that, but my real worry is that I damaged any hardware... From when I was monitoring, the temperatures never reached above 40 degrees Celsius on the CPU, so I was wondering, is it even possible to damage my RAM or CPU at temperatures that low? The whole system is in an Antec 900 Case, and the airflow setup looks great to me (but what do I know?)

I had it going fine OC'd at 3.1GHz, the RAM was OC'd at 1066 (it's rated at 1000) and I had the timings set correctly, and the voltage was set at the recommended voltage for the RAM at 2.1v. If PassMark caused the system to crash, that ultimately means that it was unstable at those settings, yes?

Please help

Thanks
