Help with a Tape Drive

Hello,

I have a DDS-4 tape and I bought a drive for it off ebay. I'm not sure what software to use to get my friend's data restored from the tape. I have tried the built in windows backup program and it will see the directory structure, but when I restore the files all I get is a bunch of unrecognized files and no folders. Does anyone know a good piece of software that I could use to pull the data off the tape? Not sure if this helps, but the drive is a SCSI Seagate drive.

You need to provide more details, specifically the extension of the back up files.

The first thing you need to do is to ask your friend what program he used to back the data up with. You'll need a copy of the same program in order to restore the data.
