Hello, in my motherboard manuel it says

"if installing a duel core CPU connect the chassis fan cable to CHA_FAN2 connecter to ensure system stability"

CHA_FAN2 is a white 3pin plug which is located near the CPU.

I have a quad core but the chassis fan, or any other fan I have for that matter doesnt fit into the plug.

I've been running my pc for weeks now with no problems but I'm wondering, what goes in there and does it effect my system?

I have a Asus P5KC motherboard with Q6700 processor overclocked & stable at 3.6GHz

Thanks for any help.

It's for a chassis fan. You don't need it if you don't have anything to plug into it. Your case fans probably have standard 4 pin molex connectors.
