Ok last summer i got this computer. Its a Micron PC and it has a Pentium 4 CPU clocked at 2.4 Ghz or rather 2.399. I just put 1 Gig of RAM to help it but i still need just a bit more processing power to get through normal task. It takes like 2 hours just to convert to M4v format from AVI. It has a INTEL MOBO D845GRG. Bus clock shows at 100 Megahertz. I also cant pull up any BIOS. I want to overclock to help but dont want to break my computer. Any suggestions? maybe just to 2.6 ghz would help but is still has stock cooling.
You don't need overclocking help. You need new hardware. Even a lowly $65 part like the5200 OC'd to 3.3 Ghz would run circles around your current system.
