I have Dell--INSPIRON-1525 laptop PC with default hard ware of same model and WinXP-PRO-SP3 installed. It was working fine yesterday when I tried to play a file with Win Media player which gave the message acquiring license... after that I was asked to download some CODEC file form internet.I downloaded that same, agreed to run that and after running that; immediately system did restart....
DELL logo appeared to the screen followed by a blinking dash with black screen on top left corner. After that nothing happened. I wasn't able to go to safe mood either for any troubleshooting.
Now I'm completely helpless and want to solve the issue myself with your help.
I 'm not sure it is a problem with HD (Hard drive) or MBR (master boot record) or any other thing.I tried to search the problem via internet as well on other PC. But.. all the similar questions doesn't give me a click to start with.
