I was just wondering what you think a good power supply would be for this computer. I plan to do overclocking in the future with this, and various hardware additions as detailed in the list.
Q9450 with intentions to overclock
780i Motherboard
8800 GTS 640 MB with possible future SLI
4GB Corsair Dominator
1 IDE DVD RW Drive
1 Spinpoint F1 750 GB SATA HDD
1 80 GB SATA HDD
4 Case fans excluding the GTS and CPU fans
You can only achieve SLI with the card that you currently have. I think you may want to step up the PSU a little more for Tri SLI as well. Probably going to have to find something with 6 PCI Express connectors.
My PSU has 4, but you could probably use Molex adapters to achieve a third set. Really depends on which card you choose, but I feel like you may need a 1000W plus PSU to power the setup
+1 for the PC Power & Cooling 750W. Since the 8800GTS 640MB only works in SLI (2 cards, not 3), that PSU is plenty. Mine still works perfectly and it's very quiet
There's also the Corsair 750TX, also top quality, usually cheaper.
