I also have a flash drive (4G) it does not have a switch on it or anything. I was trying to transfer files from my old computer to the new one. I have a wireless network and got messed up trying to do it by the wireless method.
Once I got the files on the flash drive it would not open, tried to format the drive to start all over again it said it was write-protected. I am quite the dummy when it comes to computer, but if the flash drive is corrupted then I will have to purchase another one. I don't know what I could have done wrong to make this happen. Any suggestions. Have Windows XP
