Hello,

Just saw that intel posted a new x-25 firmware on its website (30 nov). Wanted to check if any got it flashed and how it went? (loss of data? bricking the drive? etc)

The patch notes states that this contains firmware for the 34nm SSD's and this:

30 November 2009 2CV102HD This firmware revision has several continuous improvement optimizations intended to provide the best possible user experience with the Intel SSD.

No real mention about bug fixes vs the last firmware.

What ya'll think? Safe or wait?

Though I've never had it happen myself, my understanding of the term "bricking" is that the drive has not only lost your data, it's also lost the ability to function, period. In that case a simple restore wouldn't be an option - you'd have to replace the drive before you could restore.

I can easily understand why he'd want to hear from "early adopters" before trying it himself...
