Hi all,

Firstly i am new here so hello everyone

I was wondering if you would give me some advise on the following components that i am going to order. The pc will be used as a media center and for game playing:

Asus P5Q3 Deluxe MB
Intel core 2 quad Q6700
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
ATI HD 4870 graphics card
OCZ Stealth Xstream 600w psu

Besides the other bits and bobs, please let me know what you think of the above and let me know if i have chosen wisely. I want to stick to a similar budget to what the above list prices up as but i will welcome any imporvements that you may suggest.

what about RAM? the P5Q3 is DDR3 (or do you already have DDR3?)..... myself i've just got the P5Q-E (DDR2).. you'll save a few £/$ buying a DDR2 set up or spend the extra on some better RAM.

Reading on the forums it seems loads of people have got it correct in that at the moment DDR3 doesnt seem to be worth it unless you just want to say "look what i've got"

I do not have any RAM yet as i was still deciding which to go for with regards to DDR3.
If you think that DDR3 is way over rated and overpriced though then i might look at the P5Q-E.

I think in that case i will go for the ASUS P5Q Deluxe and spend the extra cash to buy some top notch RAM
