My icon text displays have changed from text above my desktop to text in a
blue box. I can't find a setup window which controls icon text appearance.
Any ideas?

Control Panel, System, Advanced, Performance, Settings. Scroll down and check the box Use drop shadows.......... Also, if you have any Active Desktop content enabled, the icons will have the background instead of the shadows.
