Im a noob trying to figure out if i can overclock it without frying my computer lol.

Processor: Core 2 Duo E6550
Motherboard: Asus P5N-E SLI Nvidia nForce 650i SLI
Ram: 2GB of Aeneon 1GB DDR2 800 - 240 pin PC6400 CL5
Graphics Card: EVGA 512-P3-N856-LR GeForce 9600 GT Low Power 512MB 256-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail
PSU: NZXT PP500

Can i overclock my cpu with the stock fan?

I'd not reccomend you OCing with the stock Intel fan, you should invest in a good aftermarket heatsink if you are serious about overclocking.

Also read the C2D and C2Q overclocking guide in the stickies. Great guide, it'll probably answer/solve most of your questions.

Well you can overclock a BIT with that stock cooler.(~300-400 Mhz).
But ocing with stock cooler any more furthur also not recommended from my side.

Just keep watch on temps though.
