Hi,
I'm going to buy a new PC, for gaming purpose.
I use a 19' screen with resloution of 1280x1024.
The components I'm buying are:
CPU
Motherboard
RAM
GPU
HD

The budget is 900$:

E8400 - 179.99$
P5Q-E - 159.99$
G.Skill 4GB (2 x 2GB) - 79.99$
VisionTek Radeon HD 4870 - 284.99$
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB - 89.99$
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total: 795$

And not included in the 900$ budget:
PSU - Corsair 550VX
Case - NZXT Tempest
DVD Burner - SAMSUNG SH-S223B x20 SATA

Any suggestions for improvement with the 100$ left? HD4850 crossfire, HD4870 or wait a year or a bit more and buy a new GPU that cost 200$ and much more stronger?

Thanks for any help.

Not bad.. but you can do better on Newegg.

In a lot of cases 4870 will be a better deal than 4850 CF.

What PSU do you have? Brand and model please, not just watts.

Thanks for your comments.

The PSU I'm planning to get is the Corsair 550VX.
NZXT Tempest is the case.
Do you have something better to offer in the same prices?

And what can be better if I buy from newegg?

If that is the standard P5Q, I think it only has one PCI-E slot.

For the same price from newegg, you can get a P5Q-E that will be able to crossfire and meet all your needs.

I would get the x38 or x48 mobo if you want to crossfire, as the p45 runs crossfire in x8/x8 where as the x38 mobos run crossfire in x16/x16 pci-e lanes.

I'll second that.

Thank you all.
I checked out newegg and I think I could get the computer from there.

Proximon and royalcrown, I liked your offers.

Shadowthor, I don't think to use Crossfire.

So, here are the new components from newegg:
E8400 - 179.99$
P5Q-E - 159.99$
G.Skill 4GB (2 x 2GB) - 79.99$
VisionTek Radeon HD 4870 - 284.99$
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB - 89.99$

Total ~ 795$

And not included in the 900$ budget:
PSU - Corsair 550VX
Case - NZXT Tempest
DVD Burner - SAMSUNG SH-S223B x20 SATA

I recommend strongly using this specific memory kit from G. skill for 10 bucks more:

There I have done your compatibility research for you... not something I usually do but I was curious. :)

That Corsair PSU is a good one; no worries there. Have fun with your build.

Don't worry about crossfire if you are only going to play at 1280X1024, a 4870 is more than enough for you. Really nice selection BTW, I hope you enjoy it.

You pretty much have it nailed down it looks like. A 4870 will be powerful enough to run a larger resolution monitor if you so choose down the road.

Enjoy
