Sony Computer RA830G
Intel Pentium 4 CPU
3.40 GHZ
2 GB Ram
Radeon X1800XL Graphic card ( 3 years old )
256 MB GDDR3
System - MS XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 / Service Pack 2
Dell LCD 24"
Screen resolution 1920 x 1200 x 32 - would like to maintain this spec.
Presently have MS FSX Flt Simulator Deluxe Edition / FSX Flt Simulator Acceleration Expansion pack loaded on the hard drive and the ATI card has held up well . The one mistake made when the card was purchased some three years ago was the 256 MB ..... should of grabbed the 512 MB version.
Its now time to upgrade the card ( budget about $150 CDN ) and I want to stay with the gang at ATI. I've had a good look at the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 512 MB and I would like a second opinion ..... good move ? bad move ?
Would appreciate some thoughts !
Cheers for now.

no i wouldnt recommend the 2600xt. for games like that i would recommend a 4850 or for cheaper a 3870. FSX is cpu bound so i believe u need a better cpu. someone correct me if i am mistaken.

X1800XL to 2600XT? no i dont recommend it either, get a HD 4850 instead but your CPU is a bottleneck, FSX is a CPU intensive game and u will have problems with it with your CPU.
