Hello can any one help me overclock my Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E, this is my first time trying to overclocking something.

Programs i have are ccc. amd overdrive. I am using windows 7

list me other specs..what processor..etc

 

just use the slidebar on the CCC move it to the rightest >>>
good luck
but first u need to click on the unlock button in CCC (go to ati overdrive) theres a key button there

do not forget rivatuner, that is to properly cool it.

works like a charm, you just got to unlock it in ccc and alow for manual fan speed control.

just a note, gpu temps at around 80 is not a problem for ati cards, they are meant to run that hot
use gpuz or ccc to monitor your temps

my specs are

Gigabyte MA790GP-UD4H AMD790GX ATX AM2+/AM3 Sideport

AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition Quad Core Processor AM2+ 3.0GHZ

Corsair XMS2 Dominator TWIN2X4096-8500C5D 4GB 2X2GB PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 CL5-5-5-15

Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E.

right now my current values are gpu values 500mhz memory clock: 900mhz. And my temperature is 54c.

Also my memory stick is set to 800mhz

Make sure you have back up cards, being your first time oc. use care dont burn your stuff up.

what are you talkin about in this case ur ram?
also did you overclock ur cpu? if not , you should, read some articles
