GPU isn't stable!

Hey everyone,

I am running a XFX 4890. I am doing a stability test with Furmark. When I have my card turned up to 1GHz GPU and 1200 MHz Memory it will run the furmark stability test with "extreme burning mode" and 8x MSAA just fine. I have only let furmark run for 10 minutes, but after 4 minutes the temp on the GPU is maxed out at 70 Celsius so I figured it was good.

With my card at these settings, I load Left 4 Dead and my computer freezes within 5 seconds of in-game play. Any ideas why I can run furmark just fine but Left 4 Dead doesn't work?

Maybe LFD has some kind of error checking? I think a lot of games will not care if you OC and cause a few errors, but others will CTD alot.

I had a similar problem.... I would recommend you download OCCT program and run the GPU test an see if your overclock registers any errors. If it does, you will have to lower down your overclock to a stable clock. My 4890 was stable at 900/1090...
