More Information

Hi everyone,

Alot of great information on here, I am very impressed with the expertise here!

I would like to build a new computer, mostly for gaming...been a few years so I am a little behind the times, but spent hours reading posts on here the past few weeks. I'll just pose my questions to make it simple, and though I can't say price is no object, I'm not looking for a budget build and don't mind spending a few extra bucks:

1) I like the Q9450 for the system I would build. If I want to use NVidia cards and SLI, what motherboard do you recommend with this chip? I am looking more for value than low price. I don't mind spending several hundred dollars for a great mobo.

2) DDR3 seems to be a big no-no in many discussions. Is it because of the value of it today? Would ppl recommend I stay away from it? What if I want a more futureproof machine? Do ppl recommend better quality ddr2 than even stepping into the "cheaper" ddr3, then getting a ddr3 board down the road when they are more reasonable?

3) Velociraptor...is it worth the price? Sure seems awesome but want to make sure ppl recommend it if its affordable.

I'm so excited to get this built, thanks very much in advance for your help!!!
